Dr Agnes Ayton

Dr Agnes Ayton is a consultant eating disorder psychiatrist at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Oxford, and the current Chair of the Faculty of Eating Disorders, after serving as Vice Chair from 2015 to 2019.

 

Dr Ayton was the driving force behind the RCPsych’s response to the NICE Guidelines and Quality Standards for Eating Disorders. She has been at the forefront of the campaign to improve medical education in eating disorders, which has resulted in the recent pilot credentialing training programme supported by the RCPsych and HEE.


She made a major contribution to the revision of the AOMRC-approved Medical Emergences in Eating Disorder Guidelines. She is an outspoken supporter of improving patient services without discrimination.
