Dr Daniel Lamport

Dr Daniel Lamport is an Associate Professor in the School of Psychology & Clinical Language Sciences at the University of Reading.

He has a PhD from the University of Leeds. His professional interests bridge psychology, neuroscience, and nutrition.

Dr Lamport’s has a particular interest in dietary components such as flavonoids, polyphenols, and probiotics, and how these interact with processes like inflammation and glycaemic response to affect cognition and mood. His work combines controlled trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses, offering both detailed insights and broader overviews of the field.

He has authored other 75 publications and his work has been cited more than 2,500 times. Recent studies include investigations into the cognitive benefits of multi-strain probiotics in older adults, the impact of coffee-derived chlorogenic acid on mental performance, and the broader links between inflammation and cognition.

Dr Lamport is a committee member of the British Psychological Society. His interdisciplinary perspective and collaborative approach have made him a valuable figure in both academic and professional circles, helping to connect nutrition science with psychology and public health.
