OUR SPEAKERS
Dr Alex Richardson is an established speaker, educator, researcher, writer, and expert in Nutritional Neuroscience, Psychology and Psychiatry. She is internationally known for her pioneering research into the role of dietary fats on brain development and function, and its implications for ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, the Autism spectrum and related conditions affecting behaviour, learning and mood. Alex’s work has always been highly inter-disciplinary and collaborative, centred on ‘individual differences’ – and aimed at improving understanding, everyday experience and practice for everyone affected by developmental or mental health conditions. Her book for parents and professionals – ‘They Are What You Feed Them’ – is dedicated to the FAB Research charity, founded to raise awareness of the links between diet and mental health, wellbeing and performance, and to improve both research and its translation into effective practice.
Hazel De Maeijer, ANutr has a degree in Psychology, an MSc in Nutrition and Behaviour, and is a Registered Associate Nutritionist with a special interest in neurodevelopmental conditions, emotional regulation and mental health. Hazel is also currently undergoing training to become a therapist (accredited by the British Psychological Society) alongside her work with FAB Research, and has conducted nutritional research into adults, investigating ADHD type symptoms and mental wellbeing.
