In this live webinar, internationally recognised researcher Professor Philip Calder, Professor of Nutritional Immunology at the University of Southampton, will explain the science behind inflammation and explore the important - and often misunderstood - role of omega-3 fats in how our immune systems function and related health outcomes.
Designed to cut through misinformation and oversimplified online claims, this session will provide a clear, evidence-based understanding grounded in current research from a globally leading specialist.
What You’ll Learn
This session cuts through the noise and will cover:
- Why inflammation is essential for survival and is not the universally ‘bad’ process – but one that needs regulating
- How food and diet influence inflammatory processes, and the links between the immune system and brain function across the lifespan
- How omega-3 fatty acids (and other essential nutrients) fit into the picture, and their roles in immunity, inflammation and mental health
- Why the long-chain forms of omega-3 in particular are so important – and the best dietary sources
Who Should Attend
Clinicians, researchers, nutrition professionals, students, and intellectually curious minds who enjoy questioning assumptions and following evidence wherever it leads.
